16 — Questions

Before you go.

When is the best time to visit Kashmir?

It depends on what you want to experience. Spring brings blossom and gardens, summer opens up the high meadows, autumn turns the chinar trees gold, and winter brings the possibility of snow. Conditions vary from year to year, so we plan around your dates and the season.

Is snowfall guaranteed?

No. Snowfall depends entirely on the weather. Higher areas such as Gulmarg usually hold snow through the core winter months, but timing and depth change every year. We will share what to realistically expect for your dates.

What should I pack?

Layers are essential in every season. For winter: thermals, a warm insulated jacket, waterproof boots, gloves and a cap. For summer: light layers, a warm fleece for evenings, comfortable walking shoes and sun protection.

Is Gulmarg accessible in winter?

Gulmarg is a winter destination and is normally reachable by road, but heavy snowfall can temporarily affect roads, and gondola operations depend on weather and the operator. We monitor conditions and adjust plans when needed.

How does the houseboat stay work?

Houseboats are moored on Dal or Nigeen Lake and are usually reached by shikara. You stay aboard with your own room, and meals can typically be arranged on board. We share the specific houseboat and what is included before you confirm.

Can the itinerary be customised?

Yes. The journey shown here is a starting point. Length, order, pace, stays and experiences can all be changed around you.

What happens if the weather changes the route?

Mountain weather and road conditions can change quickly. If a road, pass or activity is affected, we re-order the days or suggest an alternative so the journey keeps its rhythm. Your safety comes first.

How does booking work?

Tell us about your journey through the planner or WhatsApp. A travel expert contacts you, refines the plan and sends a written proposal with pricing and terms. Your trip is confirmed only once you approve it.
